3000 Visits!

Our class blog has had 3000 visits!

Thank you to everyone who has visited our blog.  The students and I have really appreciated you coming and having a look at what we have been doing in class.

For me as a teacher, I feel that it gives the students a different perspective on how they view their work and effort knowing that there is a world-wide audience interested in what they are doing and how they are learning.

To celebrate we had a class party on the last day of Term 3.

I look forward to having another party when we hit 4000 visits!

Testing our Packages

The finish up our Package it Better Unit in Science, the students worked in Collaborative Clusters to design and make a package which would protect a valuable gift (an egg).

Grace provided the eggs from her very own chickens!

Here are some photos of the students working in their groups to construct packages using the following design brief:

  • Able to protect the gift
  • Aesthetically pleasing
  • Environmentally friendly
  • Cost effective

Here are some photos of the groups with their finished product:

A finally – the big test!

Students dropped their package off the top floor verandah of D Block to see if it would protect the egg.  They had two attempts at this and if their egg still survived then the final test was to kick their package against a wall as hard as they could.  Surprising, even after this destructive treatment, many eggs still survived!

Great package creating, 6L!

Calendar Art

As part of a fundraising initiative for the Year 6 Graduation Dinner, we create Calendars for parents and friends to buy.

6L used their hand print to provide the basis for their Calendar Art.

Here are the finished products.  Post a comment on which was your favourite and why.
