Prime Minister for a Day

We have been learning about the Australian Government and how laws are made and changed during our Civics and Citizenship unit. One of the activities we did was called, ‘Prime Minister for a Day’. All the students were put into groups which became political parties. They had to elect a leader who would be responsible for delivering their policies to the rest of the class in the hope that they will get voted and run the class for the day. They would implement the policies that got them elected.

The winning party was elected by using confidential, preferential voting forms. The winning party was NWA with their leader, Josh. Their policies were:

  • Music and party food down on the oval
  • Slip and Slide
  • Wood work in the high school wood work room
  • Mini tramp gymnastics in the Multi-Purpose Room

Well done to Josh and his team for organising a great day.

Riptide Performance

Our P-6 Celebration Concert was on last week and Year 6 were able to perform the song they had been working on with the ukeleles.

We played ‘Riptide’ by Vance Joy.

We increased the rhythm section by adding drums, tamborines, bells, washboard and a cabasa.

Have a look at the performance…
